The major themes of the play include the following: the corrupting power of unchecked ambition, the relationship between cruelty and masculinity, the difference between kingship and tyranny. It was written by William Shakespeare in 1606 in England. The play was performed on stage in the form of a tragedy. Macbeth most clearly reflects the playwright’s close relationship with King James I. Shakespeare wrote the play in order to entertain the king. 4. He wrote the play MacBeth from the source of King MacBeth of Scotland. Its about a Scotish General named MacBeth who receives a prophecy that he is to become King of Scotland. So he murders the king, King Duncan, and takes the throne for himself. He becomes a tyrant and has to commit murder after murder to protect himself from suspicion. He ends up dying in the end. It was written to King James 1. I think its interesting that the tale is taken from a real source of a Scottish King.

Macbeth was written by William Shakespeare. It was written because James 1 became ruler of England. He wrote it for the king as entertainment. It also went along with King James family line. Also, the most important theme of Macbeth is moral constraints. Macbeth craves power and advancement, which goes along with the moral constraints. Macbeth was written for James 1. Shakespeare was very close to the King, and always wrote plays for him. Macbeth was performed as a play as soon as it was finished for the crowd to enjoy. Also, an interesting fact about Shakespeare was his baptism on April 26, 1964 in Stratford-upon-Avon. It was three days before the plague.

  6. Shakespeare thought a play that included witches would attract people to come to the theater. MacBeth was written for James VI of Scotland, after the death of Queen Elizabeth. Many underlying themes are present in the play, such as witchcraft, the supernatural, murder, and evil. It is thought the play was first performed around 1605-1606. Apparently, the play has been cursed by practitioners of spell-casting because they disapproved of the public exposure of their craft. One interesting fact about Shakespeares plays is that none of the original manuscripts exist.

Shakespeare wrote "Macbeth" specifically for King James I. Macbeth is often read as a cautionary tale about the kind of destruction ambition can cause. William Shakespeare was born in 1564, but his exact birthdate is unknown. He was baptized on April 26 of that year, so his birth would have been shortly before.

  8. Macbeth is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare and is regarded by many as one of the most gloomy of the famous writer’s plays. Shakespeare wrote Macbeth for King James I; the king was a very avid supporter of Shakespeare and Shakespeare’s group eventually became known as, “The Kings Men”. Many of the main themes in Macbeth are Ambition that leads to destruction and the difference in cruelty and masculinity. Macbeth was performed in the early 1600’s in London at the famous Globe Theatre. One interesting fact I discovered was that William Shakespeare abandoned his family in order to achieve fame and success.

One interesting fact that I did not know about Shakespeare is that based on textual evidence in the sonnets and some plays, some believe that Shakespeare was bisexual.

England at the time. The major themes of the play included ambition, and kingship. His ambition to become the king of Scotland is exteriorized by the witches' prophecies. Lady Macbeth's more selfless ambition pushes Macbeth to the path of crime. “Macbeth” was performed in the form of a play, and was of course written by William Shakespeare, who not only was an author but also a great actor.

  12. Macbeth was supposedly a command given to Shakespeare. It was written to be presented to King James I and the King of Denmark while the King of Denmark was visiting England in the summer of 1606. Macbeth was Shakespeare’s shortest tragedy, but it also considered one of his darkest. The play is about a brave Scottish general named Macbeth. Macbeth receives a prophecy from a trio of witches. They tell him that he will one day become king of Scotland. The knowledge of this, along with his wife’s persuasion, leads Macbeth to kill King Duncan and take the throne for himself. His rule is plagued with guilt and paranoia. Macbeth covers suspicion by committing various murders. His actions throw him and his wife into a world of madness and death. Backstage, many believed that the play was cursed, and it was simply referred as “the Scottish play.” One of the main themes behind Macbeth is the corruptness of ambition. In the play, Macbeth exceeds the moral constraint in order to achieve his goal. His ambition was his downfall.
No one knows his actual birthday.

Evidence suggests that Macbeth was written by command as one of the plays to be given before King James I and the King of Denmark during the latter's notable visit to England in the summer of 1606. Shakespeare's company was the King's Players. The major themes are The Forcefulness of Love, Love as a Cause of Violence, The Individual Versus Society, The Inevitability of Fate. It was written for his new patron, James I (James VI of Scotland), following the death of Queen Elizabeth. James was interested in witchcraft and Scotland, and hence the themes in the play. Banquo is James's ancestor. Macbeth was first performed in 1606, three years after James I succeeded Elizabeth I on the English throne. By that time, William Shakespeare was the most popular playwright in England. You can see from the content of 'Macbeth' that Shakespeare was writing to please the new king. At the time James I was already James VI of Scotland, so a play like 'Macbeth' about Scottish history was a tribute to him. One interesting fact about Shakespeare is Anne Hathaway was eight years older than Shakespeare and three months pregnant when they got married.

Few writers have ever had as many great works that have changed literature like Shakespeare did. Macbeth is one of his most famous works. He wrote Macbeth specifically for King James I because of his love for theatre. Shakespeare’s main themes in Macbeth were ambition, battle between fair and soul, and kingship. Macbeth was originally performed in 1606 at the Hampton Court for the King James the First and his brother. What is interesting about Macbeth and all of Shakespeare’s plays is that they were all performed in the afternoon by daylight.

    Macbeth

Why was Macbeth written ? wrote his play 'Macbeth' for King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland. The play was an excuse to praise the King's long line of descent back to his supposed ancestor, Banquo.

What are major themes of the play? ambition , the supernatural ,reality vs appearance ,guilt , sleep/dreams and loyalty .

Who was it written for? It was written for James the sixth of Scotland, first of England.

How was it performed? In Shakespeare's era the demand for new entertainment was huge, so the play would have been performed immediately following its completion. With Macbeth this was particularly true, since King James I was extremely interested in sorcery and witchcraft, having written his own book Daemonologie Macbeth's success was assured .

    * One interesting fact I did not know about William Shakespeare ? There are only two authentic portraits of William today; the widely used engraving of William Shakespeare by Martin Droeshout first published on the title page of the 1623 First Folio and the monument of the great playwright in Stratford's Holy Trinity Church in Stratford

Macbeth tells the story of a brave Scottish general (Macbeth) who receives a prophecy from a trio of sinister witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. The first recorded presentation of Macbeth took place at Globe Theatre. It is said that Macbeth was written for King James I and the King of Denmark. The corrupting nature of unchecked ambition, relationship between cruelty and masculinity and, the difference between kingship and tyranny were different types of themes that were portrayed throughout the play. Macbeth was Shakespeare's shortest and bloodiest tragedy. Shakespeare's source for the tragedy are the accounts of King Macbeth of Scotland, Macduff, and Duncan.

  20. Macbeth was written for James I by William Shakespeare in 1606. It went along with the king’s Scottish heritage. Some themes of Macbeth are kingship and tyranny, violence, religion, and witchcraft. Macbeth was mostly preformed in the Globe Theatre because of its depiction of witchcraft. The Church of England would not support this. Something interesting about William Shakespeare is that not much is known about him, and this fact has led to the conclusion of many that Shakespeare did not write his own plays. Some think that either Francis Bacon and the Earl of Oxford wrote them.

Macbeth is play written by William Shakespeare in 1606. Macbeth follows the story of a Scottish nobleman,Macbeth, who is told he may become king. The main theme of the story is difference between Kingship, being ruled by a true king, or Tyranny, being ruled by a tyrant; dictator; or absolute ruler. Many believe Macbeth was written for King James the King of Denmark. Macbeth was originally performed in a theater by actors.

    * Almost no information exists about Shakespeare’s activities from the time he moved to London to 1592, when he was described as an up-and-coming playwright in the London theater scene. Because of this, the years 1585 to 1592 are called “the lost years”

Shakespeare was an inspirational figure in the literary world of the renaissance period. One of his most famous works is Macbeth. Macbeth was written in 1606 for the theatrical plays that he created in the reign of King James I. His play embodies a darker theme due to the insecurities of the king. The theme of Macbeth is that excessive ambition will have terrible consequences. The first account of the play being performed was in april of 1611 at the globe theater.

Macbeth was written to amuse and entertain King James I because he was a supporter of the theater that Shakespeare created. The company that Shakespeare created eventually became known as “The King’s Men”. It was named “The King’s Men” because the King was such a large supporter. Shakespeare has many themes in this play which consist of the following: The Corrupting power of Unchecked Ambition; The Relationship Between Cruelty and Masculinity; and The Difference Between Kingship and Tyranny. Not only did Shakespeare create the Globe Theatre which held many of his plays, he also created many new words that we use to today such as “assassination”. When the play was first performed it was performed only in the Globe theatre and mostly performed by males even girls roles were performed by males.
