When
finished, students are to begin reading over the English 12 syllabus.
Agenda:
1st Block
- Teacher will then explain the descriptive essay through a power point presentation “Show, Don’t Tell”
- Teacher will then share a personal story along with the object of meaning. Included will be an example of a well-developed descriptive paragraph.
- Outline & Introductory Paragraph: Students will be introduced to the outline and introductory paragraph of the descriptive essay.
- Write: Students will begin writing after brainstorming and finalizing on topic.
- Individually, students will research a British influence: music (artist, band, etc.), film, literature, science, etc. Write a well-developed response (at least 1 page hand-written). Be prepared to share in class. Avoid doing the same as your neighbor.

Avoid doing the same as your neighbor. In your paragraph, be sure to answer the questions: Who? What (what do they do? What have they done?) Why is it such a major influence?
