Simba and Beowulf’s Circle of Life
The Geats leader, resolute in his helmet, replied: "We are retainers from Hygelac's band. Beowulf is my name." Beowulf is describing who and what he is to the congregation; he’s the leader of the Geats. “I finally got some sense knocked into me. And I've got the bump to prove it. Besides, this is my kingdom. If I don't fight for it, who will? Simba is basically saying that he finally realized that he’s is king over the whole Prideland and if he doesn’t step up and take care of his business then who will if not him. Although Beowulf is a very powerful strengthful man out of the Beowulf poem and Simba is a strong wildly lion from the Simba’s Pride:Lion King movie, they both share similarities in strength, bravery, and honor.
Beowulf and Simba show bravery, but Beowulf shows more bravery when he heard of the attack on Herot. Beowulf gathered his great warriors and set off to the sea for a horrendous adventure. When Beowulf reached Herot, he was introduced to King Hrothgar. The people of Herot extolled the great warrior because of his bravery. Beowulf fought Grendel, and the outcome of the battle is, the warrior won showing the souvenir of the heartless monsters’ arm. The Geat warrior defeat both Grendel and the Dragon, the more he fought and killed the monsters the more he received respect. Simba on the other hand showed bravery when he was a cub; he and Kala went to the Elephant Graveyard and was trapped in a corner by hyenas. When Simba got older he faced a big turning point that he never imagined. Simba comes face to face with reality and his uncle Scar.
Beowulf is strong and powerful, he “has the strength of 30 men.” The great warrior fought 9 sea monsters on his own. He can took the challenge to fight Grendel, Grendel’s mother, and a man eating dragon. The sturdy leader fought in fairness he fought each battle with his bare hands; at the end of each battle he showed how powerful and how strong he was with souvenirs of each demonic monster he’s killed. According to Simba, during the fight with his uncle Scar; Simba came to a big problem. He was hanging on to the edge of a big mountain rock, luckily he pulled himself up. Unlike Beowulf, Simba wanted to give Scar a chance to confess. Simba and Scar got into another scuffle Simba ends up throwing Scar over the edge for the hyenas to get him.
The chief of the Geats was shown great honor from King Hrothgar, by receiving gold and great treasures. In the midst of fighting the dragon, Beowulf got injured. After the dragon died so did Beowulf; in his honor he was cremated with all his treasures and golds. Afterwards all the animals in the Prideland extolled Simba for decimating Scar, they also extolled Simba as King of Prideland. My conclusion is although Beowulf is a very powerful strengthful man out of the Beowulf poem and Simba is a strong wildly lion from the Simba’s Pride:Lion King movie, they both share similarities in strength, bravery, and honor.
