He thinks that the longer Banquo lives, the longer his nightmares and fears of suspicion will persist. Macbeth states that they have mutual friends that he does not want to lose if he killed Banquo himself.
His reasons he wanted to kill banquo was becasue, banquo suspected him. Also, his sons where going to take his throne. The reason that he didn't kill himself is because, they had mutual friends!
Because macbeth is trying to keep himself covered up to make it seem as tho Macbeth has nothing to do with the murder if the king therefore Macbeth has hired murders to kill those who suspect Macbeth
